[ There's like one new kid there that Ji-hyuk hasn't spoken to, because he's just so friendly and sociable, and otherwise he's got the space more or less to himself. ]

I just got a new roommate, and I wanted to give him a little time to adjust to the room on his own...

[ What Ji-hyuk's getting out of this is "I'm rooming with a crazy person that might kill me in my sleep".

Considering Tsukiyama active tried to eat Kaneki before though, he's probably not as wrong as he might thing. ]

There are a couple of beds that'll be free for another month at least. You can crash there as long as you need to.

[ When a guy saves your life from a centipede monster, the least you can do is offer him a place to sleep. ]

[ Jihyuk isn't wrong. Who knows what kind of thoughts run through Tsukiyama's head at night? Kaneki sure as hell doesn't trust him, and he isn't about to stick around and wait to find out. ]

[ He seems like a good guy, he doesn't want to see him die by the hand of some creepy roommate. ]

[ Two days is more than enough time for Kaneki to have found what he needed amongst the debris, and just outside his door Ji-hyuk will find three cans, neatly stacked into a little pyramid. It's nothing good, just canned vegetables again, but it's food.

There's no note, for fairly obvious reasons, and Kaneki is nowhere to be found. ]

[ ... It's a shoe. There's only one, but it looks similar enough to Ji-hyuk's current pair that nobody would notice if he switched one out.

You know, except this one is noticeably less in tatters. ]

[ The other shoe. It took him five days to find but despite all the effort, this second one is a lot worse for wear. It's covered in dirt stains, and half of the lace is missing. Still, it's in one piece, and looks a hell of a lot better than Ji-hyuk's other shoes. ]
